Parent Workshops are designed to offer parents and guardians an introduction to the range of services and programs available at Little Treasures. These sessions aim to help families identify the best options to support their child’s academic growth, behavioral development, and social skills. It is crucial to recognize that children with disabilities may struggle to communicate their needs or express their emotions. We provide specialized training to help parents and guardians recognize signs that their child is experiencing challenges in conveying mental or physical feelings or exhibiting challenging behaviors. Families are given access to a variety of resources and tools to effectively advocate for their child during times of distress.
At Little Treasures, we emphasize the importance of reinforcing what children learn in the classroom within both home and social environments. We collaborate closely with parents and guardians to create practical behavioral and educational strategies and materials that can be applied in daily life.
Additionally, we welcome and encourage family members of our students to engage in our numerous support groups and workshops to foster a strong community network.

If you’ve ever felt confused about the difference between ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and IBI (Intensive Behavioural Intervention) — you’re not alone! While these two therapies share the same foundation, there are some key distinctions to know 👇
✨ ABA Therapy (Applied Behaviour Analysis)
ABA is a broad approach based on understanding and improving behaviours that are meaningful to the individual.
It can be used across all ages and in a variety of settings — home, school, or community.
ABA focuses on teaching new skills, reinforcing positive behaviours, and reducing behaviours that may interfere with learning or daily life.
💪 IBI Therapy (Intensive Behavioural Intervention)
IBI is a specialized, high-intensity form of ABA, typically designed for young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
It involves structured, one-on-one therapy — often 20–40 hours per week — targeting key developmental areas like communication, social interaction, and self-help skills.
IBI is usually delivered by trained professionals under the supervision of a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or psychologist.
