Madeline Marie Asaro (MA ’20) is driven by passion for research and compassion for clients and families. The Brock University PhD in Applied Behaviour Analysis student, whose research centres on foo... Parent Workshops are designed to offer parents and guardians an introduction to the range of services and programs available at Little Treasures. These sessions aim to help families identify the best options to support their child’s academic growth, behavioral development, and social skills. It is crucial to recognize that children with disabilities may struggle to communicate their needs or express their emotions. We provide specialized training to help parents and guardians recognize signs that their child is experiencing challenges in conveying mental or physical feelings or exhibiting challenging behaviors. Families are given access to a variety of resources and tools to effectively advocate for their child during times of distress.
At Little Treasures, we emphasize the importance of reinforcing what children learn in the classroom within both home and social environments. We collaborate closely with parents and guardians to create practical behavioral and educational strategies and materials that can be applied in daily life.
Additionally, we welcome and encourage family members of our students to engage in our numerous support groups and workshops to foster a strong community network.
